Congratulations to Sandpoint guard Aliya Strock for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Dec. 4-Dec. 9!

The reigning 4A Inland Empire player of the year knows a thing or two about how to perform in big moments. She converted two free throws late in the state championship game last February to wrap up the Bulldogs' title - and earlier this momth, she tallied an efficient 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers, as Sandpoint tripped up Class 5A state champion Coeur d'Alene, 53-49. She currently leads the squad with a 17.3 points-per-game average.

Strock collected 50.0% of the overall vote.

Russell Gibson, Eagle boys basketball: Racked up 25 points and seven assists in a 77-61 win over Rocky Mountain.

Ty Goeckner, Highland boys basketball: Put up a double-double of 30 points and 18 rebounds in a 51-43 win over Deary.

Chloe Grieser, Genesee girls basketball: Nearly had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 steals and seven rebounds in 50-16 rout of Nezperce.

Landon Heemeyer, Rocky Mountain boys cross country: Took home All-American honors with a 14th-place showing as top Northwest finisher at the Nike Cross Nationals in a 5K time of 15:30 in his first-ever appearance.

Nelah Roberts, Skyline girls cross country: Earned All-American honors at the Nike Cross Nationals with a 16th-place finish in a 5K time of 17:56.1

Emmi Swillie, Timberline girls basketball: Notched a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds in a 51-47 win over Kuna.

Ab Talaso, Capital boys basketball: Logged a 14-point, 17-rebound double-double during a 68-54 win over Preston.
