Lake City girls basketball player Avery Waddington voted WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to the Timberwolves' standout for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athlete of the Week for Nov. 13-Nov. 18!

Congratulations to Lake City's Avery Waddington for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Idaho High School Athletes of the Week for Nov. 13-Nov. 18!

The winter basketball season has barely started - and the 6-foot-3 Montana signee is already making clutch plays in the final seconds. Waddington sank a key 3-pointer with 38.5 seconds to go, then followed up with a blocked shot on the other end to preserve Lake City's 49-43 non-league victory over reigning 5A semifinalist Boise.

Waddington collected 84.8% of the overall vote, well ahead of runner-up Jace Judy, of Hillcrest football.
