HOW THE TOP 10 FARED — OCT. 14
1. MERIDIAN 8-0 (5A) defeats Capital, 48-3
Ready to be prime-time No. 1? Warriors sure are as TE Nathan Reynolds' 96-yard kickoff return for first-quarter touchdown starts run of 41 unanswered points.
2. ROCKY MOUNTAIN 7-1 (5A) defeats Timberline, 49-0
After last week's wild loss at Meridian, Grizzlies rebound in big way with ninth victory in a row over the Wolves - and first shutout in the series since 2019 (21-0).
3. BISHOP KELLY 8-0 (4A) defeats Columbia, 37-7
Order restored! Knights clinch first 4A SIC crown since 2018 as RB Peter Minnaert rushes for 202 yards and two touchdowns in road victory.
4. EAGLE (4A) 6-2 defeats Borah, 41-14 (Thu.)
QB Jake Longson proving to be a bit of a magician with his escapability and strong arm as Mustangs roll to seventh win in past eight meetings in series.
5. HIGHLAND 5-3 (5A) defeats Madison, 28-22
Bobcats' second half rally to cut it to 21-16 halted on QB Drew Hymas' 37-yard scamper on third down to set up Rams' decisive final touchdown early in final quarter.
6. RIGBY 6-2 (5A) defeats Thunder Ridge, 41-14
No second-half letdown this week as QB Luke Flowers tosses two of his five touchdown passes in three-minute span of third quarter to put Trojans in control.
7. SKYLINE 5-3 (4A) loses to Bonneville, 16-13
Been a rough late-season stretch for reigning Class 4A champions, who are stopped inside Bees' 10 on interception in final seconds to lose for second time in three weeks.
8. MOUNTAIN VIEW 4-4 (5A) loses to Nampa, 23-14
Same development from earlier losses - fell behind early (14-0) and had four turnovers. Isaac Nordstrom's 20-yard FG with 8:47 to go clinches it for Bulldogs.
9. SUGAR-SALEM 7-0 (3A) defeats Teton, 56-6
Dominant Diggers finish off eight consecutive TD-scoring drives by going 95 yards late in third quarter. Tenth win in a row in series nets another 3A Mountain Rivers title.
10. MINICO 7-1 (4A) on bye
RB Jafeth Bendele (918 rushing yards, 18 TDs) and the crew get week off before facing Twin Falls next week for the 4A Great Basin West championship.
