Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia High School Athlete of the Week for January 15-20, 2024 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Sunday, January 28th at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Devin Bockman, Midtown Boys Basketball

Bockman went off for a game-high 31-points and added four assists and three steals in a blowout win over Chapel Hill.

Moustapha Diop, Walker Boys Basketball

Diop had an impressive double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds. He also dished out five assists and was great defensively around the rim with four blocks in the win over Therrell.

Zayden Edwards, St. Andrews Boys Basketball

Edwards played an amazing game versus Hebron Christian. He finished with a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds. He also added six assists and three steals.

Blake Wilson, Hebron Christian Boys Basketball

Wilson had one of the best games of his career and definitely one of the best this week. He had a monster double-double with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and one block in a highly competitive match-up versus St. Andrews.

Lawrence Sanford, Cherokee Boys Basketball

Sanford was pivotal in a big win for the Warriors. His 36 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals powered his team past Kennesaw Mountain.

Alex Koch, Cedar Shoals Boys Basketball

Koch had a rare 20-20 game with 26 points and 20 rebounds, and he added in two steals, and five blocks in a match-up versus Clarke Central.

Colton Wilbanks, Chestatee Boys Basketball

Wilbanks was unstoppable, finishing with game-highs of 45 points and 17 rebounds.

Tanyia Williams, Swainsboro Girls Basketball

Williams had an insane 20-20 game, with 20 points and 20 rebounds in a win over Jefferson County. She also had 14 points and 18 rebounds in another game last week, closing in on that 1,000-rebound mark.

Kennedy Deese, Kell Girls Basketball

Deese was dominant in a match-up versus Centennial. She finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds, and was amazing on the defensive end as well with five steals and four blocks.

C’India Dennis, Creekside Girls Basketball

Dennis was doing it all last week for her squad. In one game she had a double-double with 13 points and 14 assists. In another game, she went off for a triple-double with 17 points, 13 assists, and 11 steals.

Mackenna Nix, Temple Girls Basketball

Nix was on fire and had a phenomenal game. She finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds for the double-double, as well as six steals to top it off.

Sean Crews and Caden Prater, Social Circle Wrestling

Both Crews and Prater recorded their 150th career wins in their area titles matches.

Bear Bringer, South Effingham Wrestling

Bringer had a monumental win in only his freshman season. His pin in overtime helped South Effingham repeat as 6A Team Dual Meet State champions.

Seth Daugherty, North Forsyth Wrestling

Daugherty went 3-1 at the state finals and had three pins and finished the year with a record of 39-2.

Ty Murray, Central Wrestling

Murray won his 100th career match and became a back-to-back state champion.
