Georgia Football Class 5A State Championship Preview: Coffee vs. Creekside

The Match-up:
Creekside is back in the state finals for the first time since winning it all in 2013, and they’re running into a buzzsaw in Coffee, who has put together their best season in program history.
This will mark just the second time the Trojans have played in the state finals since the school doors opened in 1970. They last played for a state title in 2017 when the lost to Lee County for a second time that season in the finals.
This year’s Cofee team since destined to break through with the program’s first title after winning their first 14 games in a row, but the Seminoles won’t be an easy matchup.
The Seminoles’ only loss came against national powerhouse Mater Dei in early September. On Friday night, they found themselves trailing Jefferson 14-0 before storming back for a 28-17 victory.
The Trojans have looked a tad bit stronger thus far in the playoffs, especially after the earned a 33-18 road win over perennial power Cartersville Friday night to reach the finals. With both teams having stout defenses, the game will come down to which one gets more stops.
