We’ve picked out 10 sophomore running backs in Georgia that have stood out this season.

We are just past the mid-point part of the high school football season here in the Peach State and there’s no shortage of underclassmen performing at a high level. It’s no surprise that sophomore are showing out in Georgia as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of underclassmen features some of the top running backs we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Georgia. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing sophomore running back in Georgia.

Here are this week's nominations: 

Amari Latimer, Sandy Creek: The Sandy Creek tailback has had a strong fall campaign, rushing for 985 yards on 120 attempts and scored 14 touchdowns. 

Jonaz Walton, Central: When it comes to yardage, Walton has been one of the best to churn out first downs. Walton has rushed for 1,002 yards on 101 carries and scored 13 touchdowns. 

Kimauri Farmer, Carrollton: Playing side-by-side with Julian Lewis helps, but Farmer has really shown out this season. Farmer has rushed for 808 yards on 116 carries and scored 15 touchdowns for the Trojans. 

Demetrius Dowdy, Winder-Barrow: The running back has put together a very nice sophomore season for himself. Dowdy has carried the rock 133 times for 777 yards and scored five times. 

Tyler Rogers, Pepperell: Mr. Rogers has made himself welcomed into any opposing defense’s neighborhood as the back has rushed for 897 yards and scored eight touchdowns. 

Ty Cummings, West Laurens: The speedster has shown the ability all season long that he’s one of the top sophomore backs around. Cummings has rushed for 888 yards on 116 carries and scored eight touchdowns. 

Tamari Curry, Washington Wilkes: Curry has made it happen game in and game out as a sophomore sensation. The running back has rushed for 758 yards on 75 touches and scored nine touchdowns. 

Brandan Ridley, McIntosh: Ridley has come onto the scene and made an immediate impact as a sophomore back. The running back has carried the ball 101 times for 687 yards and scored seven touchdowns. 

Joshua Stanley, Bleckey County: This running back has had no problems when it comes to finding the endzone. Stanley has rushed for 663 yards on 83 touches and scored 10 touchdowns. Also plays linebacker on defense. 

Kaden Chester, Worth County: Chester is among the state’s leaders when it comes to rushing yardage as the back has rushed for 872 yards on 118 attempts. Has scored 11 touchdowns this season.
