Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia High School Athlete of the Week for October 9-16 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 21 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominations:

Trajen Greco, Mill Creek Football

Greco was a major contributor in Mill Creek’s upset win over Buford. He caught seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.

J.J. Sweat, East Paulding Softball

Sweat had an outstanding performance, pitching a complete game shutout with nine strikeouts giving North Cobb, which was 26-0, its first loss of the season.

Neko Fann, Colquitt County Football

Fann had a near perfect performance in a 37-16 win over Camden County. He was 13-for-15 for 223 yards and four touchdowns.

Caroline Stanton, Buford Softball

Stanton threw a no-hitter with 16 strikeouts to help Buford become the undefeated Region 8-7A champions for the second year in a row.

Macey Cintron, Wesleyan Softball

Cintron only needed three innings against Gilmer to have 10 strikeouts and didn’t allow a run during her time in the circle. In another win over White County, she was the winning pitcher, striking out nine and going 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and three RBIs.

Zion Johnson, Newton Football

Johnson rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in a blowout win over Brookwood.

Julian Lewis, Carrollton Football

Lewis had his second straight game of throwing five or more touchdowns in a win over Pebblebrook. He finished with a line of 13-for-18 for 345 yards and five touchdowns.

Gwen Hill, Hebron Christian Academy Softball

In two starts last week, Hill pitched 13 innings and only gave up two runs while striking out 20 batters.

Lily Vaughn, Jefferson County Softball

Vaughn went five scoreless innings and struck out 10 versus Hepzibah to earn her 10th win on the season.

Jamauri Major, North Cobb Football

Major rushed for 122 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries and also caught a 33-yard touchdown pass.

Shayla Bahr, Wesleyan Softball

Bahr went 3-for-3 with a triple, a home run and five RBIs in a 13-1 win over Gilmer.

Adriana Martinez, Buford Softball

Martinez came up big to help Buford end the regular season undefeated. She drove in the first run of the game with a solo shot and drove in the last run with a walk-off single.

Fred Brown, Coffee Football

Brown rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries to help Coffee move to 7-0 on the season.

Hannah Cole, Lambert Softball

Cole went 2-for-3 hitting cleanup at the plate with a home run and two RBIs, while producing five shutout innings in the circle with 13 strikeouts.

Khristian Lando, Cartersville Football

Lando was Cartersville’s go-to offensive option. He rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries to help take down Hiram, 35-34.

Emaree Winston, Calhoun Football

Winston had four receptions for 114 yards and two of his receptions went for touchdowns.

Curt Clark, Spalding Football

Clark rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, while also completing five passes for 114 yards in the win over West Laurens.

Matthew Fuller, Wayne County Football

Fuller rushed for 272 yards on 26 carries and accounted for nearly all of Wayne County’s total yards in a 21-16 win over New Hampstead.

Kaci Gurley, Atkinson County Softball

In two games last week, Gurley went 5-for-7 with a double, a homer, and five RBIs.

Amira Johnson, Carrollton Softball

In a 10-0 win over Lagrange, Johnson sent 3-for-3 with two homers and four RBIs.

C.J. Givers, Fellowship Christian Football

Givers rushed for 309 yards and three touchdowns on just 23 carries in a 52-28 win over Athens Academy.

Marian Collins, Mount Paran Christian Softball

Collins went 5-for-5 in two games last week with a home run, a double, and five RBIs in two wins.

Toby Maddux, Trion Football

Maddux was unstoppable in a 52-17 win over Chattooga. He put up some insane numbers, rushing for 309 yards and five touchdowns on just 11 carries.
