Here are 10 games for you voting consideration

Prolific football offenses, on all levels, have become more vertical over the years and the ball is absolutely flying in Georgia in 2023. The guys on the other end of those throws, the wide receivers, are in the spot light in our latest poll as we look to you to help us determine who has been the top high school wide receiver in Georgia so far in 2023.

We've selected 10 candidates we believe are in this conversation and we're asking you to help decide by voting in our poll. Voting will conclude on October 31st at 11:59 p.m.

Here are the nominees:

Ahmed Souare, Loganville

The junior is not only having his best season yet, but he is having the best season out of all the receivers in the state at this point. He leads all receivers in receptions with 54, receiving yards with 1,115, and 14 receiving touchdowns. Don’t get it twisted, Souare has been balling all season long, but he has been on a different trajectory than everyone else for the past three games. In his last three match-ups he has went over 180 yards receiving in each, with a high of 290 receiving yards last week. In total, over that span, he has 702 yards and nine touchdowns, those are stats that 70% of receivers in the state wish to have.

Ny Carr, Colquitt County

The four-star University of Miami commit is one of the most dynamic receivers in the state. Carr doesn’t have a super high reception number but when he does get his hands on the ball he makes big-time plays. He has 37 receptions through six games for 720 receiving yards (leads all of 7A) and 12 touchdowns. To dive deeper into that, he is averaging nearly 20 yards per receptions and 120 yards per game.

Sacovie White, Cass

The three-star athlete is committed to UGA and has been Cass’ best receiving option and one of the best receivers in the state. White has the third most receiving yards at 872 and has helped Cass play some of its best football in years. Cass has won four of its last five games and just took Cartersville to overtime and lost by a touchdown. It is certain that none of this happens if it isn’t for Mr. Dynamic, Sacovie White.

Ricky Johnson, Houston County

The Stanford commit has been putting up big-time numbers for Houston County’s high-powered offense for two straight years. Last year, Johnson stepped onto the scene with 53 receptions, 840 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 12 games played. This season in only seven games, he has nearly eclipsed all those stats. He has 42 receptions, 835 yards, and 11 touchdowns as the number one receiving option on a 6-1 team.

Mike Matthews, Parkview

Matthews is currently the only five-star receiver in the state of Georgia. Matthews had offers from just about every big-name college you could think of, but committed to Tennessee earlier this season. The Vols commit has a big 6-feet-2+ frame that he uses to perfection on the field and also has really good speed. He doesn’t have the gaudy numbers but you would be a fool to say that Mike Matthews isn’t one of the 10 best receivers in the state.

Isiah Canion, Warner Robins

Canion is a do it all type of talent at Warner Robins. He has played quarterback, running back, and his most prominent position wide receiver. Canion has been the team’s leading passer and is the team’s leading receiver with 795 yards which ranks sixth amongst all receivers. The all-around athlete’s play has landed him a four-star rating and a commitment to Georgia Tech.

Cameron Loyd, Walton

Loyd has been one of the best receivers in a pass heavy offense that spreads the ball around. Last season in 13 games he went for 50 receptions, 851 yards, and nine touchdowns. This year he is on pace to surpass all those numbers. He currently sits with 28 receptions, 677 yards, and seven touchdowns. He is looking to be hitting his full stride as of recently. In his last four games he has 555 yards and six touchdowns.

Jeremiah Ware, Flowery Branch

Ware is fifth in receiving yards in the state and is Flowery Branch’s number one offensive option. Flowery Branch has won its last two games with a total of 89 points scored and Ware has been a big reason for the Falcons hot stretch. In his last two games he had 18 receptions for 370 yards and six touchdowns to increase his season total in yards to 810.

D’ontae Fulton, Worth County

Fulton is ninth in the state in receiving yards at 696, to go with 45 catches and nine touchdowns. The junior is a scoring machine with a touchdown in each game so far this season and he is averaging 16 yards per catch and seven catches a game. He has gone over 100 yards in four games this season with a high of 152 yards.

Judson Petty, North Murray

Petty is second in receiving yards in the state with 898 and has been an interesting statistical season to say the least. He has had some astounding performances like his 16 reception, 360-yard game against Pickens and a 12 reception, 182 yard game versus Northwest Whitfield. Even with performances like this and two other 100-yard games, and over 200 rushing yards, Petty has yet to score a touchdown this season. Touchdowns aside, Petty has been one of the most productive receivers in the state and it's not debatable.
