Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia high school football coach of the week (Oct. 6-7) as nominated by our SBLive staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 14 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominations:

Pierre Coffey, Carver-Columbus: While it hasn’t been the smoothest of rides this season for the Tigers, they got a chance to celebrate a big win last Friday night after taking down Thomasville 28-14 to improve to 2-0 in region play.

Luqman Salam, Osborne: The Cardinals are 6-0 for the first time since 1994, and got there after defeating Kennesaw Mountain in dominating fashion, 35-3 last Friday night. Led by head coach Luqman Salam, the Cardinals continue to build upon what could be the best season in program history.

Gene Cathcart, Loganville: The Red Devils won a shootout against Clarke Central 51-50 last Friday night to improve to 2-2 in region play. Led by head coach Gene Cathcart, it’s the Red Devils’ first 2-game winning streak against Clarke Central since 2015-16.

Kareem Reid, McEachern: After getting off to an 0-4 start in his first year at the helm, McEachern head coach Kareem Reid and the Indians have since won three in a row, including a hard-fought 24-21 win over Harrison Last Friday night.

Chip Walker, Newnan: The Cougars earned a big 34-10 road win over Alexander last Friday night to improve to 1-0 in region play. Led by head coach Chip Walker, the Cougars improved to 8-0 All-Time against Alexander with the win.
