Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Georgia High School Athlete of the Week for October 2-7 as nominated by fans, readers and SBLive’s staff. Read through the nominees and cast your vote at the bottom of the page. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 14 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominations:

Julian Lewis, Carrollton Football

Lewis showed why he is the best quarterback in his class and arguably one of the best quarterbacks in the country, regardless of class, in a win over East Coweta. He finished with 455 yards passing and six touchdowns and now he sits at 1,575 passing yards on the season with 24 touchdowns.

Maddie Veal, Newnan Softball

Veal was lights out in the circle and helped Newnan go 10-0 in region play. She threw a complete game shutout and struck out an unbelievable 19 batters.

Camera Loyd, Walton Football

Loyd had over 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns to help Walton orchestrate a 21-point comeback versus North Cobb.

Hannah Cole, Lambert Softball

Cole had a fabulous game versus Forsyth Central. At the plate she went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, and five RBIs and in the circle, she was dominant with nine strikeouts and only one run allowed.

Gwen Hill, Hebron Christian Softball

In two games versus Hart County and Monroe Area, Hill played her heart out. On the mound she pitched a total of 11 innings, struck out 15 and only allowed three runs, while being the winning pitcher in both match-ups. At the plate she hit a homer in both games.

Jarris Coney, Northside Football

Coney had 121 rushing yards on 14 carries and added a receiving touchdown. He also had a sack and several tackles on the defensive end.

Addison Rackley, Buford Softball

Rackley had a night versus Central Gwinnett, she hit her first career grand slam and a double to finish with six RBIs.

Ousmane Kromah, Lee County Football

Kromah rushed for over 200 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 55-16 win over Veterans.

Shayla Bahr, Wesleyan Softball

Bahr 3-for-3 with a double, triple, and home run and was a single short of the cycle in the win over Gilmer.

Javarius McDearmont, Rome Football

McDearmont rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns in a blowout win over Sequoyah.

Brianna Pryor, Central Softball

In two games last week versus Northeast and Southwest, Pryor went 6-for-6 with a double, triple, home run and drove in eight runs.

Nykahi Davenport, Roswell Football

Davenport rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only 10 carries to help Roswell score 84 points and break the school record.

Marian Collins, Mount Paran Christian Softball

In two games last week, one versus North Paulding and the other versus Therrell, Collins went 4-for-6 with three home runs and eight RBIs.

Luke Hooks, Ware County Football

Hooks was 15-for-19 passing for 243 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-0 win over Jenkins.

Addie Edwards, Heritage Softball

Edwards went 2-0 on the week with wins over Sonaraville and Central. She struck out 20 batters in the two games and didn't allow an earned run, keeping her ERA at 0.00 and increasing her record to 14-0.

Cade Williams, Calhoun Football

Williams rushed for 140 yards and scored a rushing touchdown and caught a 75-yard touchdown pass.

Chase Tyler, Hiram Football

Tyler had six receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the shootout versus Calhoun.

La’Don Bryant, Benedictine Football

Bryant was a big play magnet versus Burke County. He had three catches equaling 114 yards and two of the receptions went for touchdowns.

A’Merre Williams, Burke County Football

Williams rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown and also had 81 receiving yards and a touchdown through the air.

Jayden Scott, Stockbridge Football

Scott rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries in the 48-0 win over Lovett.
