The seventh week of the Georgia high school football season is in the books.

Now it’s time to voice your opinion on which player should be named SBLive’s North Georgia high school football defensive player of the week.

North Gwinnett junior Cole Funderburk was voted last week's SBLive North Georgia Defensive Player of the Week. The junior had four sacks and forced two fumbles in a win against Berkmar.

Read up on this week's six candidates below and let us know your pick. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 7th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Tyler Atkinson, Grayson: One of the state’s leading tacklers, Atkinson had another productive game in a loss to Newton. The five-star sophomore made 10 tackles, including a season-high three tackles for loss.

Harrison East, Coosa: East made several big plays in a loss to Darlington, coming up with five tackles for loss, one sack and forcing a fumble.

Zion Ferguson, Gainesville: The North Carolina commit helped Gainesville pad its lead against Lanier with a 94-yard pick six in the first half.

Ryan Fletcher, Alpharetta: The senior came up with 4.5 sacks, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery in a win over Sprayberry.

Kyle Mullenix, The King’s Academy: Mullenix helped the Knights take down The Walker School on the road with a pick-six and two tackles for loss.

Taylor Richardson, Alcovy: Richardson sealed a victory over Morrow by blocking an extra-point attempt on the final play of the game.
