South Georgia Defensive Player of the Week

Here are this week's nominations.

Marvin Pulley, Seminole County: The Indians snapped a 3-game losing streak, and that was due in large part to the dominant play of junior linebacker Marvin Pulley, who recorded a game-high 16 tackles in their 19-7 win against Atkinson County. Of his 16 tackles, 11 were solo.

Patrick Bellamy, Northside-Columbus: Senior linebacker Patrick Bellamy was everywhere for Northside Friday night against Westover. He finished with 15 tackles, including nine solo to help lead the Patriots to a 34-20 win.

Lee Johnson, Richmond Hill: Junior linebacker Lee Johnson had himself a nice night against Coffee County last Friday, leading the team in tackles with 13. Of his 13 tackles, 12 were solo and three went for a loss. Johnson also recovered a fumble in the game.

Tank Tankersley, Glynn Academy: Senior Tank Tankersley was all over the place Friday night in the Red Terors' win over Brunswick, recording nine tackles and recording a sack. He recorded three tackles for a loss in total.

Jah Ross, Wayne County: The Yellow Jackets defense pitched a shutout against Jenkins County last Friday night, and Jah Ross did his part in making that happen. The senior led the way with 11 tackles, including 4.5 for a loss, and recorded a sack in the win.
