The third week of the Georgia high school football season is in the books.

Now it’s time to voice your opinion on which player should be named SBLive’s North Georgia Defensive Player of the Week.


North Georgia Defensive Player of the Week

Etowah safety Vinny Pacini was voted last week’s SBLive North Georgia Defensive Player of the Week. The senior forced a fumble and snagged an interception in the Eagles’ win over Cherokee.

Read up on this week's six candidates below and let us know your pick. Voting will conclude on Saturday, September 9th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Nolan Bloom, North Oconee: Bloom left his mark in a win at South Forsyth. The sophomore came up with three sacks in the Titans’ 35-3 win.

Nick Chao, Pope: Chao finished with 10 tackles, including four tackles for loss, as Pope fell to Kell.

Luke Cole, Dunwoody: Cole took over the game defensively in a 39-7 win over Chamblee. The senior racked up eight tackles, including five tackles for loss and four sacks. He also forced three fumbles, recovering one of them himself.

Aidan Maddox, North Paulding: Maddox continued a solid start to the season with another impressive performance in a 28-13 win over Kennesaw Mountain. The senior finished with seven tackles, including three tackles for loss and one sack.

Makhi Williams-Lee, Lakeside: For the second week in a row, Williams-Lee put up monster numbers and finds himself on this list. The junior recorded six tackles, including four tackles for loss and two sacks, and he forced and recovered a fumble in a shutout win against Forest Park.

Kevin Wynn, Greene County: Wynn dominated in a 43-6 victory over Hancock Central. The junior was named the team’s defensive player of the week after tallying four tackles for loss.
