Every week during the 2020 football season, SBLive Arkansas will rank the top high school football teams in every classification.

Here are the 2A rankings as compiled by SBLive reporters Connor Morrissette and Lance Smith.

1. Fordyce (6-0)

The status quo seems not to have changed much from a year ago, and that's just fine with the Redbugs. Fordyce defeated No. 2 Junction City 28-6 to win the 2A championship in 2019, and Fordyce just beat Junction City by a similar score, 21-6, in league play. Fordyce will be the overwhelming favorite this week against Strong.

2. Junction City (2-2)

While the pecking order remains clear, Junction City actually has plenty of reason to feel OK about last week's result. The Dragons hadn't played for roughly a month because of COVID-19 before taking on the heavy 2A favorite, and they played Fordyce a touchdown closer than they did in last year's title game. Given the circumstances, a 21-6 loss was really a solid showing.

That said, the Dragons know there's much work to be done. This week they're likely to get back over .500 against Parkers Chapel.

3. Gurdon (4-1)

Coming off an open week, the Go-Devils have two exciting tests in the next two weeks — Magnet Cove, then No. 5 Poyen.

4. Des Arc (6-0)

In last week's rankings, we mentioned that the Eagles had outscored opponents 239-64 this season. Make that 293-78 after blowing out Hazen. Des Arc has Carlisle on the schedule this week.

5. Poyen (6-0)

Last week, the Indians smoked Cutter-Morning Star 58-22, and that was the most points they've given up this season. Poyen is the favorite this week against Mount Ida, which is coming off its best game of the season, a narrow win over Magnet Cove.
