LAKELAND, FLORIDA – The battle is on for the final spot in the FHSAA Class 3A boys basketball state championship game as Windermere Prep (23-7) faces Providence School of Jacksonville (24-5) in a state semifinal contest from the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.

The winner will face Riviera Prep which claimed a thrilling 45-44 victory over Berkeley Prep in Wednesday's other semifinal contest.

FINAL: WINDERMERE PREP 39, PROVIDENCE SCHOOL 38

- Windermere Prep advances to Friday's FHSAA Class 3A state championship game opposite Riviera Prep, which edge Berkeley Prep, 45-44, in Wednesday's other semifinal.

- Providence's Caleb Mcabee and David Fonville each scored 11 points to lead all scorers. Chris Arias netted 8 for the Stallions.

- Bass and Gustavo Roca each score nine to lead the Lakers. Samuel Shoptaw and 7-foot sophomore center Sinan Huan scored eight each.

- Brandon Bass, who scored 36 points in Windereme Prep's regional final victory was held scoreless until the final quarter and then scored 9 huge points in the fourth to lead his team back.

END 4TH QUARTER: WINDERMERE PREP 39, PROVIDENCE SCHOOL 38

- That's it! Windermere Prep wins in a stunner.

- Bass plays late game hero with a hoop with 0.01 left and he is fouled. He hits the shot and Windermere Prep leads, 39-38.

- Bass comes up with a steal with 10 seconds to left and WP calls timeout. It's going to come down to this possession.

- Brandon Bass with a layup and its a two-point game, 38-36, with 34 seconds to go.

- Martis misses a three for WP, but gets fouled after a rebound and hits one free throw. The Lakers are now within four. Only 44 ticks left.

- Brady Patterson goes to the line and hits 1-of-2. The Providence lead is 38-33 with 51 seconds on the clock.

- Gustavo Roca commits his third foul. Providence still has the ball and a four-point lead with 1:01 remaining.

- The last 90 seconds have been scoreless. Windermere Prep calls timeout with 1:21 left. It still trails by four.

- After a turnover Providence calls timeout with 2:51 to go. The Stallions will have the ball with a four-point advantage.

- Brady Patterson feeds Mcabee (11 points for layup) as Providence leads by four, 37-33.

- After a jumper from Shoptaw (8 points), WP is back within two, 35-33.

3RD QUARTER: WINDERMERE PREP 27, PROVIDENCE SHCOOL 27

- Time has run out on the third quarter and we head to the fourth locked in a 27-27 tie.

- Fonville drains his third 3-pointer of the night. The game is tied 27-27 with less than a minute to play in the third.

- Fonville commits his third personal foul and WP gets two free throws from Huan. WP 27-24.

- Fonville looks like is heating up as he gets second three pointer. Providence trails 25-24.

- Malachi Martis with the driving score for WP.  Lakers lead by four, 25-21.

- Providence gets its first points of the second half as David Fonville connects from beyond the arc. WP up 23-21 with 3:21 to go in the third.

- Huan breaks the scoring drought with his fifth and sixth points of the night and Roca follows with a three. Windermere Prep is suddenly up five, 23-18 with 3:56 to play in the quarter.

- Since the last basket each team has a personal foul and a turnover.

- Samuel Shoptaw starts the 3rd quarter scoring with a jumper to tie the game at 18-18. We're 90 seconds into the second half and the low scoring trend continues.

HALFTIME: PROVIDENCE SCHOOL 18, WINDERMERE PREP 16

- Both teams have a pair of three-pointers and Windermere has attempted the game's only free throw.

- Windermere is shooting 36.8% from the field while Providence School is slightly better at 44.4%.

- Providence's Chris Arias leads all scorers with 7 points, while Joshua Stallings has 5 for the Stallions.
