Being an alumni of a school and becoming the head coach can be a blessing and a curse.

Taking the North Marion job was a reunion when Greg Carr, a former Colts wide receiver, took the gig prior to the 2022 season. Now, he’s no longer leading his former high school team.

According to Carr, he is no longer the head coach at North Marion. The former Florida State standout lasted two seasons and finished 8-13.

Carr played for the Colts from 2000 to 2004, appearing in a Class 5A state championship during that stretch.

After his days in Citra, he went on to play for the Seminoles collegiately where he finished his career ranked fifth in the school's history in career receptions (148) and receiving yards (2,574) and second in touchdowns (29).

The Colts become the latest opening as football programs are still in search of head coaches with spring ball nearly two months away from starting up in late April.
