Reggie Crume steps down as Calvary Christian (Florida) head football coach

Crume has been the Warriors’ head coach the last six seasons

In an off-season that sees a lot of turnover at the head coaching position, Tuesday morning brought one of the more surprising openings yet.

In an email obtained by SBLive Sports Florida, Calvary Christian Head of School David Kilgore announced to the school’s football community that Reggie Crume has stepped down as the school’s head football coach. Crume, who will remain with the school through the spring, has been the Warriors' head coach since 2018, compiling an overall record of 46-23.

Crume's most successful seasons have come in the last two years, with the lead man guiding Calvary Christian to back-to-back region final appearances.

Below is of Kilgore’s email is down announcing Crume’s voluntary resignation.

The Warriors had back-to-back 10-3 seasons under Crume's watch, but face a series of graduations that will definitely be felt by the team. Calvary Christian graduates quarterback Jacob Drackett (Air Force signee), offensive lineman Joseph Ionata (Alabama signee) and linebacker Callahan Blair (Vanderbilt signee).

There's plenty of talent returning to the Warriors as well, with players like wide receivers Josh Robinson (52 catches, 1,083 yards), Austin Ho (52 catches, 769 yards) and running back Sean Cuono (1,024 yards, eight touchdowns).
