Preston Wright, 2025 quarterback, to transfer from Trinity Catholic to Cardinal Gibbons

Wright helped lead Trinity Catholic to the Class 1S state championship game

When 2024 rolls around, junior quarterback Preston Wright will be no longer a Trinity Catholic Celtic. 

Wright announced on Thursday morning via X, formerly known as Twitter, that he will be moving down to South Florida and transferring to Cardinal Gibbons in Fort Lauderdale. 

The junior quarterback has started for Trinity Catholic the last two seasons, leading the Celtics to the Class 1S state championship both years. 

This past junior season was Wright’s best between 2022-2023, with the quarterback completing 150-of-265 passes for 2,047 yards, 20 touchdowns to just six interceptions. 

Trinity Catholic (6-8) narrowly fell in the Class 1S state championship game, 31-27, to Cardinal Mooney of Sarasota. Wright in the championship game went 19-of-35 passing for 164 yards and a touchdown. 

In 2022, Wright for the season completed 93-of-128 passes for 1,274 yards, 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
