We’ve selected 18 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 10.

As such, we have 18 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Florida Panhandle Offensive Football Player of the Week award from October 26-27 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, November 4th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.

Here are this week's nominations:

Battle Alberson, QB, Gulf Breeze: In the Publix Beach Bowl against Navarre, though Alberson and the Dolphins fell 49-48, the quaterback had himself a night. Alberson threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns, then added 100 on the ground and three more scores. 

Nigel Nelson, RB, Pensacola Catholic: Nelson was not to be denied in the Crusaders' 56-35 win over West Florida. Nelson rushed for 350 yards on 32 carries and scored five touchdowns. 

Cameron Odom, RB, Cottondale: In a 56-14 win over Vernon, Odom accumulated 299 yards of total offense and six total touchdowns. 

Sammy Frietas, QB, Mosley: Freitas was the difference in the Dolphins' 29-28 win over Niceville, completing 24-of-43 passes for 364 yards and four touchdowns. Also rushed for 74 on the ground. 

DJ Robinson, RB, Niceville: The running back rushed for 117 yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in the loss to Mosley. 

Nathaniel Nocher, QB, Crestview: Nocher led the way in Crestview's 39-14 win over Leon, completing 10-of-19 passes for 143 yards and three touchdowns. 

Miequle Brock, RB, Pine Forest: The Eagles' running back carried the rock 10 times for 182 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-6 win over Pensacola Booker T. Washington. 

Jesse Winslette, QB, Choctawhatchee: Winslette had a big night in the Indians' 41-0 win over Fort Walton Beach, throwing for 133 yards, two touchdowns and also rushing for a score. 

Cole Tabb, RB, Choctawhatchee: The Stanford commitment rushed for 129 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown. 

Brock Stout, RB, Jay: Stout rushed for 148 yards on 28 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Royals' 35-22 win over Wewahitchka. 

Wells Bettenhausen, QB, Walton: The quarterback completed 15-of-17 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns in the Braves' 46-0 victory over Pensacola. 

Carson Hawk, QB, South Walton: Hawk completed 13-of-23 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-26 win over North Bay Haven. 

Peyton Gay, QB, Bozeman: The Bucks' quarterback completed 12-of-17 for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 29-16 win over Holmes County. 

Anthony Hall, QB, Escambia: Hall completed 11-of-16 passes for 210 yards and four touchdowns in a 52-19 victory against Tate. 

Nick Simmons, QB, Pace: Simmons rushed for 194 yards and scored four touchdowns in the Patriots' 27-7 win over Milton. 

Hunter Pfiester, QB, Navarre: Pfiester threw for 121 yards, a touchdown and rushed for 144 and added two scores in the Raiders' win over the Dolphins. 

Connor Mathews, RB, Navarre: The running back rushed for 133 yards and scored two touchdowns in the Raiders' 49-48 win over Gulf Breeze. 

Wyatt Straight, RB, Baker: The Gators' tailback carried the ball 46 times for 256 yards and three touchdowns in the team's 32-24 win over Pike Liberal Arts (Alabama).
