We’ve selected 14 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 10.

As such, we have 14 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s North Suncoast Florida high school football offensive player of the week award from October 26-27, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Novemeber 4th at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll. 


North Suncoast Offensive Player of the Week

Here are this week's nominations: 

John Capel III, RB, Hernando: Capel III went off in the Leopards' 31-13 win over Crystal River, rushing for 249 yards on 21 carries and scoring two touchdowns. 

Ayden Wallace, QB, Fivay: Though Wallace didn't throw much, when he did, he was effective. Wallace completed 4-of-6 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-15 win over River Ridge. 

Samuel Monfre, WR, Fivay: The Falcons' wideout caught seven passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns versus the Royal Knights. 

Malachi Askin, RB, Cypress Creek: Askin rushed for 139 yards on 27 carries in a 63-35 loss to Zephyrhills. 

Tristian Lennon, RB, Zephyrhills: Lennon went off for 226 yards on 12 attempts and scored three times against the Coyotes. 

Rodney Smith, RB, Zephyrhills: The fellow backfield mate of Lennon had a big game too, rushing for 115 yards and scoring three touchdowns himself. 

Luke Knight, QB, Wiregrass Ranch: Despite coming in a 37-35 loss to Land O' Lakes, Knight threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns. 

Fred Adams, WR, Wiregrass Ranch: Adams had his coming out party as a wide receiver, hauling in six passes for 148 yards and four touchdowns. 

Cayden Thomas, QB, Mitchell: Thomas set a single-game record for passing yards, throwing for 428 and six touchdowns in a 62-6 win over Sunlake. 

Brady Miller, WR, Mitchell: School-record was set by Miller last Friday versus the Seahawks, hauling in seven passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns. 

Bryce Backus, WR, Mitchell: Backus tallied 89 yards receiving and four touchdown grabs in the win over Sunlake. 

Alvaunte Brown, QB, Pasco: Brown had his finest day as a Pirate, completing 10-of-18 passes for 172 yards and four touchdowns in a 53-0 win over Wesley Chapel. 

Demontia Hudson, ATH, Pasco: Hudson totaled 143 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the Pirates' win over the Wildcats. 

Timothy Gaynor, RB, Central: Gaynor rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears' 20-14 loss to Weeki Wachee.
