Vote: Who has been the best freshman linebacker in Florida so far in 2023?

We’ve picked out eight freshmen in Florida that have stood out this season.

Don’t think that only the heavy hitters in the front seven on defense are upperclassmen as there’s some underclassmen that also pack a punch.

That’s where we go today as we take a little dive into some of the top freshmen linebackers all around the Sunshine State. We’ve put a list together of some of the top freshmen backers and we ask you to vote on who you think is the best from this 2023 season.

We give you eight candidates to choose from and you can also write in one of your own if you don’t see the freshman linebacker you think tops the 2027 class.

Voting closes on October 31st, 11:59 pm.

Here are this week's nominations:

Kamren McMillian, Florida A&M DRS: The middle linebacker has led the way among all freshmen in tackles as he’s tallied 60 with one going for a loss.

Kaden Henderson, Jesuit: Playing within one of the most experienced teams on the this list, Henderson has seen extensive time already. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound linebacker has made 35 tackles and five have gone for a loss.

Noah Renes, Viera: Not many on this list can boast the amount of tackles for loss like Renes. The Hawks’ linebacker has made 48 tackles, 12 for loss and three sacks.

Josh Hallas, Calvary Christian Academy: Hallas has come on the scene this year and really made a splash. The linebacker has notched 43 tackles, four for a loss and 2.5 sacks.

Kymoni Gordon, Riverdale: Formerly at North Fort Myers, Gordon has come to Riverdale and made an impact on defense as a freshman. Gordon has tallied 41 tackles and nine have been for a loss.

George Harris, True North Classical: The True North Classical linebacker has been one of the top freshmen defenders of 2023. Harris has notched 43 tackles, four for loss and 2.5 sacks.

Levi Champion, King’s Academy: Champion has been an intricate piece to the Lions’ defense this 2023 season as the linebacker has made 35 tackles and seven of those have gone for a loss.

Maxwell Reid, West Boca Raton: Through seven games played, Reid has stepped in and made plays when given the opportunity. Reid has tallied 29 tackles and five have gone for a loss.
