We are past the mid-point part of the 2023 high school football season here in the Florida Panhandle and there’s no shortage of athletes on the offensive side of the ball performing at a high level. It’s no surprise that players are showing out in the 850 as that’s been the case in the past many times over.

This list of athletes features some of the top offensive football players we’ve seen or have been playing at a high level on the Florida Panhandle. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing high school offensive football player so far on the Florida Panhandle.

Voting closes on October 31st, 11:59pm

Here are the nominations.

Battle Alberson, QB, Gulf Breeze: The Dolphins senior quarterback has put up some strong numbers this fall. Alberson has completed 159-of-277 passes for 2,274 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Amari Clemons, RB, Marianna: Clemons is the engine to the Bulldogs’ offense. The running back has touched the ball 97 times for 855 yards and scored 17 touchdowns on the ground. Also has nine catches for 190 yards and three scores.

Cole Tabb, RB, Choctawhatchee: The Stanford commitment is averaging nearly a first down every time he touches the football. Tabb has carried the rock 95 times for 910 yards (9.6 yard per carry) and six touchdowns.

Anthony Hall, QB, Escambia: As a first-year starting quarterback, you expect a little bit of shaky play. Not from Hall, though. The signal caller has played efficiently and effectively, with most importantly taking care of the football. Hall has thrown for 1,820 yards, 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

Wells Bettenhausen, QB, Walton: Looking at the kind of impact Bettenhausen has had on the Braves is looking at their undefeated record as well. The quarterback has completed 67 percent of his passes for 1,676 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Connor Mathews, RB, Navarre: Not many running backs are producing in the kinda way Mathews is on a weekly basis. The Raiders running back has 122 attempts for 914 yards and found pay dirt 17 times.

Brock Stout, RB, Jay: Now we know there’s some players who might play in higher classifications and what not, but you can’t ignore the play of Stout. The tailback has rushed for 856 yards and scored seven touchdowns this season.

Nick Simmons, QB, Pace: Talk about your dual-threat style quarterback. Simmons really gives the Patriots a ton of athleticism under center. Simmons has accounted for 1,105 yards and 17 touchdowns this season.

Christian Neptune, Tate: It’s been a renaissance season for the Aggies and you don’t have to look too much further than the play of Neptune at wide receiver. Neptune has hauled in 36 passes for 647 yards and seven touchdowns through seven games.

Peyton Gay, QB, Bozeman: Could the Bucks be on the way to an undefeated season? If so, you have to give credit where credit is due. Gay has thrown for 1,309 yards, 20 touchdowns and a mere two interceptions on the season.

DJ Robinson, RB, Niceville: Though Robinson’s rushing numbers aren’t at where some of the aforementioned backs are at, his impact can’t be underestimated. Robinson has rushed for 752 yards and scored five touchdowns this season.

John Nicholas, QB, West Florida: The Jaguars’ quarterback numbers stack up just about with any other signal caller on this list. Nicholas has completed 104-of-159 passes for 1,569 yards, 19 touchdowns and just two interceptions this season.

Eddie Love Jr., RB, Fort Walton Beach: This tailback is leading all rushers on this list in yardage with 1,031 yards and averaging nearly a first down every carry. Also has scored 11 touchdowns and has 103 yards receiving.
