We’ve selected 13 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 8.

As such, we have 13 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s North Suncoast Florida high school football offensive player of the week award from October 12-13, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 21st at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll. 

North Suncoast Offensive Player of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: Shawn Smith of Cypress Creek.  

Here are this week's nominations:

Anthony Muniz, RB, Gulf: Muniz had a career night, rushing for 300 yards on 26 carries and scored four touchdowns in a 35-18 victory over district foe Lecanto. Also four passes for 55 yards. 

Jadyn Wood, QB, Gulf: The backup signal caller completed 12-of-14 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Panthers. 

Malachi Askin, RB, Cypress Creek: Askin rushed for 109 yards on 17 attempts and scored a touchdown in a 35-0 win over Wesley Chapel last week. 

Shawn Smith, WR, Cypress Creek: The wide receiver had two catches for 72 yards and two touchdowns in the team's win over the Wildcats. 

Amontiy Hudson, RB, Pasco: Hudson led the ground game for the Pirates in a 9-Mile War loss to Zephyrhills, rushing for 116 yards and scoring a touchdown.

Demontia Hudson, WR, Pasco: The Pirates wideout caught four passes for 103 yards and a touchdown versus the Bulldogs. 

Riley Blevens, QB, Hudson: Blevens added to his season totals, throwing four touchdowns in a 55-0 rout of Weeki Wachee. 

Brendyn Colella, QB, Zephyrhills: The quarterback threw for over 200 yards and three touchdowns in the victory over Pasco. 

Timothy Gaynor, RB, Central: Gaynor rushed for 75 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown in a 41-0 rout over Tenoroc. 

Luke Knight, QB, Wiregrass Ranch: The Army commitment was crazy again, throwing for 371 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-10 win against Sunlake. 

Isaiah Riggins, WR, Wiregrass Ranch: The wide receiver caught four passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Sunlake. 

Ayden Wallace, QB, Fivay: Wallace played well in the Falcons' 35-6 win over Citrus completing 7-of-11 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. 

Rodney Smith, RB, Zephyrhills: Smith rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs' 35-18 win in the 9-Mile War over Pasco.
