Vote: Who has been the best junior quarterback in Florida so far in 2023?

We’ve plucked out nine junior quarterbacks in Florida that have stood out this season.

We are just past the mid-point part of the high school football season here in the Sunshine State and there’s no shortage of upperclassmen performing at a high level. It’s no surprise that juniors are showing out in Florida as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of upperclassmen features some of the top signal callers we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Florida. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing junior quarterback in Florida.

Voting closes on October 31st, 11:59 pm.

 Here are this week's nominations:

Jayce Nixon, Gaither: The quarterback has completed 122-of-187 passes for 1,632 yards and 13 touchdowns through six games for the Cowboys.

Devin Gonzalez, Cypress Bay: Gonzalez has had a strong season for the Lightning, throwing for 1,428 yards and 21 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

Ennio Yapoor, Miami Norland: Yapoor has been clutch all season for the Vikings as the signal caller has thrown for 1,303 yards, 12 touchdowns and just two picks. Also has rushed for 247 yards and five touchdowns.

Carter Smith, Bishop Verot: No quarterback has been better than Smith down in Southwest Florida. Smith has completed 72-of-122 passes for 1,203 yards and 16 touchdowns.

CJ Ingram, Hawthorne: Ingram could be on his way to leading the Hornets to a second straight state championship. The Hornets field general has thrown for 1,156 yards and 17 touchdowns this fall.

Tramell Jones, Mandarin: The Florida State commitment has been impressive for the Mustangs this season, throwing for 1,631 yards and 17 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Should surpass the 2,310 yards he threw for in 2022.

Andrew Heidel, Manatee: Now playing as the lone quarterback under Jacquez Green, Heidel has blossomed on the South Suncoast. Heidel has completed 89-of-144 passes for 1,285 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Malachi Waters, University: Can’t deny the kind numbers Waters has been putting up this 2023 campaign. Waters has completed 90-of-119 passes for 1,454 yards and 17 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

Salomon Georges, Leesburg: No one on this list can boast not having thrown an interception yet like Georges. The Leesburg quarterback has completed 74-of-104 passes for 1,350 yards, 20 touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Ethan Crossan, First Baptist Academy: With a nice new weapon in Colorado commitment Winston Watkins Jr. in the mix, Crossan has been playing at a very high level. Crossan has completed 102-of-173 passes for 1,325 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Wells Bettenhausen, Walton: Bettenhausen transferred from South Walton to Walton for a chance to be a starter and he’s made the most of it. The signal caller has thrown for 1,591 yards, 12 touchdowns and just three interceptions.

Chase Cromartie, Viera: It seems like weekly the Hawks’ offense is putting up big numbers behind Cromartie. The quarterback has thrown for 1,410 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Chris Denson, Plant City: You might not know a lot about Denson, but the junior has been putting up some big numbers. Denson has thrown for 1,182 yards, 13 touchdowns and a mere three interceptions.
