Citrus head football coach Joshua Ross reassigned pending investigation outcome

Ross is currently in his first season as the Hurricanes

INVERNESS, FLORIDA- Citrus High School head coach Joshua Ross has been reassigned pending an investigation outcome, according to a report by the Citrus County Chronicle’s Matt Pffifner on Tuesday.

According to Pffifner’s report, Ross, a first-year head football coach at Citrus, details of the pending investigation were unavailable. The Hurricanes are currently 1-5 on the season, with their lone victory coming against rival Crystal River 10-5 back on September 22nd.

Ross has told SBLive Sports Florida’s Andy Villamarzo that he does not want to comment at this time while the investigation was ongoing.

The Hurricanes head coach will not be coaching the team whatsoever during his current reassignment period.

Citrus has gone through some tough times the last couple of season, with the program enduring a 1-9 season in 2022 under previous head coach Franklin McKinley. Ross was hired back in February to replace McKinley.

Between 2020-2022, the Hurricanes have gone 5-23 during that stretch. Citrus this season has been outscored 198-40.

Ross before landing at Citrus, was the quarterbacks coach at Pasco High School in 2022. The Pirates last season went 9-2 and reached the Class 3S state playoffs.
