Vote for the SBLive Sports Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: AJ Truiolo, Football, Spanish River.

Here are this week's nominations:

Nate Hanson, Football, Navarre: Ever score a touchdown every time you touch the ball? Hanson did in Navarre's 35-31 win over Mosley as the athlete had one carry for 59 yards, a touchdown; two catches, 42 yards, two touchdowns. Quite the stat line.

Skyler Forella, Football, Ocala Christian: Forella had himself a game to remember when it came to tackling totals. The linebacker had a team-high 26 tackles, four sacks in the team's 38-6 win over Old Plank Christian.

Caleb Cotton, Football, Master's Academy: The quarterback showed out on a Saturday against Hernando Christian in 8-man football, with Cotton completing 8-of-11 passes for 292 yards and six touchdowns.

Cody Ott, Football, St. Joseph's Academy: Perfection. Completing every pass in a game is something of rarity for a high school quarterback. Ott did it in a 48-0 win over Duval Charter, going 6-of-6 for 141 yards and a touchdown.

Corey Simms, Football, Mitchell: There have been a lot of good runners to come through Mitchell. Simms stands apart from them all as he set a school record for rushing yards in a single game as the tailback carried the rock 13 times for 295 yards, four touchdowns.

Jordan Rizzo, Football, Evangelical Christian: Averaging 40 yards a carry is a pretty nice average. Rizzo accomplished that feat in a 52-0 win over Gateway Charter, rushing for 120 yards on a mere three touches and scoring once.

Cameron Brunelle, Football, Eagle's View: Throwing for as many yards and touchdowns as Brunelle did last week, it's no wonder Eagle's View has been playing at a high level offensively this fall. The signal caller threw for 315 yards and five touchdowns in a 69-0 defeat of Cedar Creek Christian.

Laython Biddle, Football, Bartram Trail: Not many running backs run for the amount of yards Biddle did against IMG Academy on a regular basis. Or maybe ever? Despite in a losing effort, Biddle rushed for 172 yards on 25 attempts and scored twice for the Bears.

Haden Klees, Football, Wakulla: Klees can sling the rock like no other. The War Eagles signal caller had himself another strong showing, throwing for 309 yards and three touchdowns in a 45-0 win over St. John Paul II.

Devonte Lyons, Football, St. Augustine: The running back keeps showing week in and week out that he's one of the more underrated tailbacks in the state. Lyons rushed for 205 yards and four touchdowns in a wild 49-30 win over Nease.

Bredell Richardson, Football, Carrollwood Day: Richardson had himself a big time game against one of the top teams in Class 2S as the wide receiver caught nine passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-7 win over FSU High.

Jesse Winslette, Football, Choctawhatchee: When your team scores 66 points, the quarterback usually has something to do with it. Winslette was the catalyst in the Indians 66-30 win over South Walton, with the quarterback completing 12-of-22 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns.

Walson Morin, Football, Key West: The running back of the Conchs went off in the team's 35-12 victory on the road at South Fork. Morin carried the ball 17 times for 227 yards and three touchdowns.

Marion Smokes, Football, DeLand: Holy Smokes. Seven touchdowns? The Bulldogs quarterback led the way in a 70-12 blowout win over Deltona, with Smokes throwing for 282 yards and seven scores.

Dane Tompkins, Football, Lake Minneola: It was a career kinda night for Tompkins when Lake Minneola rolled past Fleming Island 55-20. Tompkins rushed for 283 yards on 18 carries and four touchdowns.

Leilani Ramos, Volleyball, Jupiter Christian: The sophomore setter had an impressive 45 assists in the team's 3-2 victory against Orangewood Christian.

Casey Fritz, Volleyball, Sickles: The senior outside hitter led the way in the Gryphons' 3-2 victory over Bishop McLaughlin, notching 27 kills.

Sophia Martindale, Volleyball, Mainland: The junior setter played a major role in the club's 3-2 victory over Deltona by netting 42 assists.

Zori Brown, Volleyball, St. Thomas Aquinas: The junior outside hitter came up huge in the Raiders' 3-2 win over an upset-minded Cardinal Newman bunch as Brown totaled 23 kills in the game.

Laura Lizacano, Volleyball, Naples: The senior lifted the Golden Eagles 3-2 over Aubrey Rogers by notching 10 blocks and nine kills.
