Palm Beach Central storms from behind twice to knockoff Benjamin
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA – In the season’s biggest match-up in Palm Beach Central, Palm Beach Central rallied from 17-0 halftime deficit and came from behind again, late in the fourth quarter, to knockoff visiting Benjamin, 27-24, in battle of two 5-0 teams, Friday night.
PBC quarterback Caleb Butler threw a pair of second half touchdown passes, including a game-winning toss to Preston Parker, Jr., with 47-seconds to play to lift the Broncos.
Butler got Palm Beach Central on the scoreboard for the first time with a 25-yard touchdown throw to Kamare Williams. PBC then got fourth quarter touchdown run from Leon Williams and Nedrick Bolding to surge in front, 20-17. Benjamin broke PBC’s scoring run with a touchdown pass from Jayden Vega to Adam Balagoun-ali, with 2:43 to play, to go back in front, 24-20, before Butler rallied the Broncos once more.
Benjamin built its halftime lead on touchdown runs by Chauncey Bowens and Vega, as well as a field goal by Lily White.
