We’ve selected 22 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 6.

As such, we have 22 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Tampa Bay Offensive Football Player of the Week award from September 28-29, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, October 7 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll. 


Tampa Bay Offensive Player of the Week

Here are this week's nominations.

Antwan Richardson, RB, Clearwater Academy International: One of the state's breakout running backs had a big performance on the road. Richardson rushed for 306 yards on 32 carries and scored four times in the Knights win over Brentwood Academy. 

Chris Denson, QB, Plant City: Denson is having himself a season for the Raiders. The quarterback completed 16-of-21 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns in Plant City's 54-14 victory over Alonso. 

Jeff Jones, ATH, St. Petersburg: Jones was running wild again for the Green Devils as the athlete carried the ball 26 times for 226 yards and scored twice in a 31-7 win over Northeast. 

Tony Marshall, RB, Plant City: The tailback joined in on the fun and rushed for a team-high 176 yards on 16 carries and scored once for the Raiders. 

Jershaun Newton, QB, Clearwater Central Catholic: Newton on this list, what's new? The signal caller threw for 118 yards and rushed for 108 in CCC's 28-27 win over Carrollwood Day. 

Mykehl Boebert, RB, Palm Harbor University: The running back carried the rock 27 times for 154 yards and scored three times in the Hurricanes' 24-7 win over Sickles.  

Girard Pringle, RB, Armwood: Pringle had a big night in the Hawks' 27-13 win over Wharton on Saturday, rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns. 

Malachi Peterson, RB, Largo: The running back led the way for the Packers in a 35-0 win over Countryside, rushing for 141 yards and two touchdowns. 

Jordan Magwood, QB, Carrollwood Day: Magwood performed well in the loss to CCC, completing 14-of-17 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Also rushed for 79 yards. 

Izaiah Williams, WR, Carrollwood Day: The Florida commitment hauled in four passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns against CCC. 

Jacob Drackett, QB, Clearwater Calvary Christian: The Air Force commitment threw for 249 yards and a touchdown to lead the Buccaneers past Berkeley Prep 28-21. 

JC Mirasola, QB, Plant: The Panthers' quarterback completed 6-of-12 passes for 146 yards and four touchdowns in the win over Strawberry Crest. 

Mikhail Solomon, WR, Plant: Mirasola's top target was Solomon, who caught three passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns. 

Parkees Harris, RB, Tarpon Springs: The running back rushed for 109 yards on six carries and scored once in the Spongers' 42-6 defeat of rival Anclote. 

Nathan Carter, RB, Osceola: Carter had himself a strong outing in Osceola's win over Seminole. The tailback rushed for 136 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Will Griffin, QB, Jesuit: Griffin was nearly perfect in the Tigers' 42-0 win over Leto, completing 10-of-15 passes for 183 yards and four touchdowns. 

Emmanuel Lee, RB, Durant: The running back rushed for 148 yards on 22 carries in Durant's surprising 28-27 upset win over Sumner. 

Jerry Drain, RB, Pinellas Park: In the 82-0 beatdown of Hollins, Drain rushed for 110 yards on a mere four touches and scored twice. 

Jaden Casanova, QB, Pinellas Park: The quarterback helped lead the way in the Patriots huge win, throwing for 111 yards and four touchdowns. 

Devin Spencer, RB, Sumner: Spencer rushed for 175 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns in the team's loss to Durant. 

Xzavier Jackson, QB, Tampa Bay Tech: Jackson completed 9-of-16 passes for 153 yards and three touchdowns in the Titans' 45-0 win over Tampa Freedom. 

Jayce Nixon, QB, Gaither: The southpaw completed 26-of-36 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-20 loss to Hillsborough.
