Central Florida Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 14-16): Vote Now

We’ve selected 21 candidates for your voting consideration

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Defenses held the line and then some last week in Central Florida.

Players from seven counties turned in hard-nosed performances during Week 4 games. We looked at teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 21 athletes for this week’s SBLive Central Florida Defensive Football Player of the Week from Sept. 14-16.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should be the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominations.

Will Bocker, DE/OL, Pine Ridge (Deltona): The talented senior made 13 tackles, four solo, and the key sack to end the game in a nail-biting 28-22 victory against The First Academy (Orlando).

Mitchell Tokarz, OLB/TE, Pine Ridge (Deltona): Made 12 tackles, three solo, and one tackle for loss, and caused a fumble for the Panthers.

Nate Reagin, SS/WR, The First Academy (Orlando): Turned in a strong effort for the Royals with 10 tackles in a loss to Pine Ridge.

Darius Richardson, WR/CB, Orlando Christian Prep: The athletic senior made five tackles for the undefeated Warriors in a 32-14 victory against Foundation Academy (Orlando).

Jordyn Perkins, LB, Seminole (Sanford): The talented senior had a pick-6 to lead the Seminoles past Evans (Orlando), 35-14, in a Class 4M-2 game.

Jack Gable, LB, Seminole (Sanford):Made a whopping 14 tackles for the Seminoles.

TJ Clayton, CB, Lake Mary: Turned in a superb performance with 10 tackles, two solo, and an interception in a 35-2 Class 4M-2 win against Lake Brantley (Altamonte Springs).

Luke Prieto, LB, Lake Mary: The star junior linebacker had seven tackles and a forced fumble for the Rams.

Michael McClenton, DE, Ocoee: The superstar sophomore continues to roll up huge numbers, this time with 17 tackles, 11 solo, two sacks and a blocked field goal in a 39-17 loss to Olympia.

Omar Hayes, DE/TE, Wekiva: Made 10 tackles, six solo, two tackles for loss, and one sack in a 12-9 victory against West Orange.

Sincere Edwards, ATH, Wekiva: The big-time recruit recorded 10 tackles, five solo, two tackles for loss, and one sack for the Mustangs.

Nate Lopez, ATH, Titusville: Recorded an impressive 11 tackles, two solo, one tackle for loss, and one sack in a 16-10 win against Palm Bay.

Caden Davis, DE/T, Eau Gallie (Melbourne): The junior turned in a stellar effort with 14 tackles, seven solo, four tackles for loss, and one interception in a 35-7 victory against Satellite.

Brandon Brown, DE/DT, Eau Gallie (Melbourne): Made 11 tackles, seven solo, and six tackles for loss, for the unbeaten Commodores (4-0).

Danquaill Wesley, DB, Vero Beach: Made an interception to lead the unbeaten Indians past Fort Pierce Westwood, 35-0.

Cameise Sloss, DB, Halifax Academy (Daytona Beach): Recorded an interception in a 24-12 win against Father Lopez (Daytona Beach).

Isaiah Hausman, S/OLB, Atlantic (Port Orange): Had a big day for the Sharks with nine tackles, four solo, in a 21-0 victory against Deltona.

Ayden Lewis, DL/DT/FB, Atlantic (Port Orange): Freshman star had nine tackles for the Sharks.

Jaeden Franco, SS/CB, University (Orange City): Made three tackles and an interception to lead the Titans past Key West, 38-14.

Dominic Maultsby, RB/DEF, University (Orange City): Made six tackles and a fumble recovery for the Titans.

Elyjah Gilyard, CB/FS/WR, Mainland (Daytona Beach): Had a pick-6 to lead the undefeated Buccaneers past Jacksonville Andrew Raines, 26-0.
