Vote for the SBLive Sports Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: Haden Klees, Football, Wakulla

Here are this week's nominations:

Battle Alberson, Football, Gulf Breeze: Alberson is an uncommitted prospect out of the Florida Panhandle, but how this quarterback could slip under the radar might change after last week's offensive outburst. The quarterback completed 30-of-42 passes for 463 yards and eight touchdowns. He also rushed for 97 yards and scored once on the ground.

Luke Knight, Football, Wiregrass Ranch: The Army commitment completed 17-of-28 passes for 356 yards, four touchdowns in a 55-34 win over rival Mitchell.

Julius Miles, Football, Freeport: One of the top receiving performances came out of the Florida Panhandle this past week from Miles. The wideout hauled in nine passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-36 win over Cottondale.

Jeffrey Jones, Football, St. Petersburg: Jones was nearly unstoppable running the ball in the Green Devils' 42-14 win over Osceola. The quarterback rushed for 337 yards, three touchdowns and also threw for 130 and two more scores.

Evan Brown, Football, Saint Stephen's: What a stat line Brown had in the Falcons' 47-7 victory over Aubrey Rogers last week. The quarterback completed 7-of-12 passes for 126 yards, one touchdown and rushed for 219, four scores.

Justin Brock, Football, Sarasota Christian: Brock was tossing plenty of dimes and touchdowns in the Blazers' 68-26 win over The Classical Academy of Sarasota. The signal caller completed 15-of-23 passes for 304 yards and six touchdowns.

Rolando Perez, Football, Somerset Academy South Homestead: The running back made it look easy in Somerset Academy's 50-12 victory over Palm Glades Prep Academy. Perez carried the ball 17 times for 248 yards and five touchdowns.

Clay Ash, Football, IMG Academy White: Can't deny the Ascenders from a top performer, even if it's not the national team. Ash had a career day in the team's 62-27 win over Evangelical Christian, carrying the ball 22 times for 346 yards and three scores.

Benjamin Burk, Football, Ponte Vedra: The Sharks are rolling and that's behind the stellar play of Burk under center. Burk completed 11-of-15 passes for 186 yards and five touchdowns in the team's 35-0 win over Middleburg.

RJ Mayes, Football, Marianna: Mayes was literally nearly perfect in the Bulldogs' 60-28 victory over Rutherford last week. The quarterback ended up completing 8-of-10 passes for 202 yards and five touchdowns.

Zac Katz, Football, True North Classical Academy: Think Katz is making a bid to make this list every week of the season. That's because his numbers are off the charts week to week. In True North Classical's 50-0 win over Florida Christian, Katz completed 10-of-14, 317 yards and five touchdown passes.

Cameran Dixon, Football, Dr. Phillips: Ever had every catch in a game be a touchdown? Dixon can say he's done that as the wide receiver had three catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns in the Panthers' 58-35 win over Windemere.

Chase Cromartie, Football, Viera: All Cromartie does is put up big numbers for the Hawks. In the team's 53-7 victory over Melbourne Central Catholic, the passer completed 32-of-38 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns. Also added 58 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Myles Graham, Football, Buchholz: The running back had quite the evening in the Bobcats' 49-20 win over Creekside as Graham rushed nine times for 199 yards and three touchdowns.

Amaria King, Volleyball, Trinity Christian Academy: The junior had a solid outing in the team's 2-1 victory over St. John's Lutheran as King tallied 19 kills, 13 digs and two aces for the Conquerors.

Alyssa Carey, Volleyball, Blountstown: Carey, an outside hitter for the Tigers, had arguably her best game of the season in a 3-1 win over Chipley. The outside hitter notched 21 kills and 13 digs in the win.

Lanie Varitek, Volleyball, Lake Brantley: The sophomore setter set a season-high personal best in the Patriots' 3-0 victory against Lake Mary. Varitek had 36 assists along with six digs and two aces.
