Vote Now: Who has been the Most Impressive Quarterback on the South Suncoast in 2023?

We’ve selected 10 candidates for you to choose from

It’s that time where we early on in the season have seen players get off to a hit start. We wonder who you feel like has looked the best nearly halfway through the season?

We start first at the quarterback position where these guys have been relied upon probably more so than ever before. Teams running spread offenses ask a lot of their signal callers to be the guy.

On the South Suncoast, we’ve put together a list of 10 candidates for you to choose from. Vote for who you think has been the most impressive in your eyes so far in 2023.

Editor’s Note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Voting will conclude on September 30th at 11:59 p.m. Here are the nominees.

Jadyn Glasser, Venice: The South Plantation transfer has looked solid for the Indians so far, throwing for 716 yards, rushing for 179 with six total touchdowns this season. Glasser is a Central Michigan commitment.

Andrew Heidel, Manatee: Now as the full-time starter, Heidel has blossomed this 2023 season after splitting time last year. Heidel has completed 44-of-73 passes for 440 yards and five touchdowns.

Jayden Bradford, IMG Academy: The Liberty commitment has led the Ascenders to a 3-0 start and has completed 37-of-63 passes for 603 yards and six touchdowns.

Jackson Volz, Parrish Community: If you picked Volz to be the guy with the most touchdown passes on the South Suncoast heading into Week 4, you’d be right. Volz has thrown for 744 yards and 11 touchdowns through three games.

Clayton Dees, Palmetto: Dees is a Florida International commitment and has played in one game so far for the Tigers. The quarterback went 11-of-14 for 274 yards and three touchdowns against Sarasota Riverview.

Michael Valentino, Cardinal Mooney: Coming over from Charlotte during the offseason, Valentino has had a renaissance season. Valentino has thrown for 455 yards and seven touchdowns through three games.

Braxton Thomas, Sarasota Riverview: Thomas has proven to be a threat with his arm and legs at the position. The quarterback has completed 29-of-47 passes for 498 yards, four touchdowns. Also has rushed for 98 and four scores.

Alexander Diaz, Sarasota Booker: The Sarasota transfer has fit in nicely with the Tornadoes. Diaz has completed 27-of-53 passes for 630 yards and eight touchdowns.

Elijah Manley, Port Charlotte: Manley, a Venice transfer, has been solid for the Pirates as the first-year starter. The quarterback has completed 19-of-33 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns. Also has rushed for 138 and three scores.

Lucas Despot, Braden River: The first-year starter has played well for the Pirates, throwing for 320 yards and three touchdowns through two games so far.
