We’ve selected 10 candidates to choose from this past week’s games

High school football is back in the Sunshine State and so begins our Player of the Week polls for areas all around the state. Teams started off the regular season with some great individual performances in Week 3. 

As such, we have 10 athletes nominated this week for the SBLive’s Northeast Florida Offensive Football Player of the Week award from September 7-9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, September 16 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week's poll.


Northeast Florida Offensive Player of the Week

Congratulations to last week’s winner: Jaidan Delaune, QB, Riverside. 


Here are this week's nominations.

Carl Jenkins Jr., WR, St. Augustine: Back-and-forth with Brunswick, Locklan Hewlett's go-to-guy was Jenkins Jr. and his numbers reflected that. The wide receiver caught five passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns. 

Locklan Hewlett, QB, St. Augustine: The Wake Forest commitment went off in the Yellow Jackets’ win over Brunswick, throwing for over 360 yards. 

Ke’nais Williams, RB, Baker County: Though Baker County lost 27-20 to Glynn County Academy, Williams had a solid night with 133 yards rushing and a touchdown. 

Jaylen Pettway, QB, Ed White: The Commanders signal caller completed 16-of-23 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns in a 36-14 win over Englewood. 

Tramell Jones, QB, Mandarin: Jones has been terrific so far this season and continued in Mandarin’s 50-20 win over Riverside. The quarterback went 13-of-20 for 307 yards and four touchdowns. 

Jamie Ffrench, WR, Mandarin: On the other end catching Jones’ passes was Ffrench, who caught five passes for 185 yards and three scores. 

Vincent Galella, RB, Tocoi Creek: In the Toros 23-20 loss to Bishop Kenny, Galella had a strong game and rushed for 119 yards and scored twice. 

Edward Jordan, QB, Beachside: The quarterback completed 13-of-28 passing for 212 yards and three touchdowns in the Barracudas’ 38-7 win over Menendez. 

Antonio Thomas, WR, Clay: Thomas tallied seven catches for 106 yards and two scores in Clay’s 42-41 win over Orange Park. 

Laython Biddle, RB, Bartram TrailThough in a losing effort, Biddle carried the team on his back as he rushed for 215 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 28-24 loss to Mainland.
