Vote for the SBLive Sports Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to last week's winner: Jackson Jensen, Football, Wharton

Here are this week's nominations:

Jeremiah Smith, Football, Chaminade-Madonna: A performance for the ages when it comes to the high school football level. Smith, a Ohio State commitment, caught 15 passes for 282 yards and three scores in the Lions' 61-21 demolition of Bergen Catholic (New Jersey).

Sabby Meassick, Football, Tohopekaliga: Meassick is at it again this season. Last year as a freshman the quarterback had some big games. The signal caller completed 37-of-46 passes for 563 yards and seven touchdowns in a 49-21 win over Foundation Academy.

Brady Hart, Football, Cocoa: Just his third varsity start against one of the state's top programs, Hart has proven he's among the best around. Hart completed 35-of-50 passes for 493 yards and five touchdowns in the controversial 37-36 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas.

Jack Niemann, Football, Cypress Creek: Flawless performance for the senior quarterback when Cypress Creek rolled to a 48-26 win on the road over Melbourne Central Catholic. Niemann completed 9-of-17 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns.

Carl Jenkins Jr., Football, St. Augustine: Back-and-forth with Brunswick, Locklan Hewlett's go-to-guy was Jenkins Jr. and his numbers reflected that. The wide receiver caught five passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns.

Cole Tabb, Football, Choctawhatchee: The Stanford commitment went unhinged versus Crestview's defenseTabb rushed for 365 yards in the Indians' 49-27 victory against the Bulldogs last week.

Nathan Richardson, Football, Spoto: Despite being on the losing end of things, Richardson had an all-time performance. The quarterback completed 19-of-28 passes for 424 yards and three touchdowns in the Spartans' 42-33 loss to Alonso.

Owen Beach, Football, Alonso: In that very same game (see above), Beach had a performance on the ground that was one of the best in the state. Beach ran the rock 21 times for 301 yards and two touchdowns.

Jadyn Glasser, Football, Venice: A game that featured over 1,100 yards of offense, Glasser was a main contributor to over a quarter of it. Glasser completed 14-of-26 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns in a 63-46 win over Miami Northwestern.

Anthony Hall, Football, Escambia: The baseball-turned-football athlete has fit in just nicely as the Gators' signal caller. Hall threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns in Escambia's 39-27 win over Gulf Breeze.

Dakota Brower, Football, Oak Hall: It was a record setting night for Oak Hall when they defeated Seven Rivers Christian 70-14. A school record for points and Brower touched the ball six times between the pass and run, three of those times resulted in touchdowns. That also included 156 yards of offense.

Carter Smith, Football, Bishop Verot: Smith is known more for his right arm, but in a 49-14 rout of Dunbar, he did it with his legs. The quarterback threw for 85 yards, rushed for 108 and scored six touchdowns.

Haden Klees, Football, Wakulla: The War Eagles signal caller made quick work of Munroe as Klees completed 16-of-21 passes for 375 yards and five touchdowns.

Jackson Volz, Football, Parrish Community: Literally, almost perfect was the play for Volz in the Bulls 63-22 win over Bayshore. Volz completed 11-of-13 passes for 293 yards and four touchdowns.

Cate Palmi, Volleyball, Kissimmee Osceola: The outside hitter had one of her best games of the season against Horizon, notching a season-high 27 kills.

Reagan Richardson, Volleyball, Jensen Beach: The senior tallied 28 assists in the Facons 3-0 win over Treasure Coast last week.

Savannah Creamer, Volleyball, Liberty County: Creamer is one of the leaders in blocks this season and she had her best performance in last week's 3-1 win over Maclay, totaling 10 blocks.

Ezekiel Baez, Football, North Port: The running back had a night the Bobcats will remember for quite awhile. Baez rushed for a school record 282 yards in North Port’s win over IMG Academy Blue last week.
