We’ve selected 24 candidates to choose from Week 3 games

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Central Florida football players put on some highlight shows this past weekend, and how.

Athletes from seven counties produced some head-turning performances during Week 3 games. We checked out teams from Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River counties and nominated 24 athletes for this week’s SBLive Central Florida Offensive Football Player of the Week from Sept. 7-9.

We ask you, the fan, to decide who should be the top player selected. Voting will conclude on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominations.

Jalon Lewis, RB/DB, Hagerty (Oviedo):The versatile athlete ran 15 times for 136 yards, and completed four passes for 46 yards and one TD in just one half of play in leading the Huskies to a 48-7 victory against Winter Springs.

Malachi Walters, QB, University (Orange City): The junior quarterback completed 7 of 11 passes for 230 yards and four TDs to lead the Titans past Daytona Beach Seabreeze, 64-36.

Jermane Hayes, WR/CB, University (Orange City): The talented junior returned a kickoff for a TD, caught two passes for 100 yards and two TDs, and had more than 260 all-purpose yards.

Ben Bankowitz, OL, Edgewater (Orlando): The 6-foot-3, 290-pound sophomore recorded six pancake blocks to lead the Eagles past West Orange, 27-13.

Vernell Brown III, WR/DB, Jones (Orlando): Recorded a 73-yard TD catch and an interception in a close 28-20 victory against Kissimmee Osceola.

Carson Hinshaw, WR, Lake MaryCaught six passes for 137 yards and three TDs, including a 60-yarder, in a 46-17 victory against Oviedo.

Noah Grubbs, QB, Lake Mary: Completed 14 of 24 passes for 268 yard and four TDs for the Rams.

Javon Ross, WR/S, DeLand: The senior continues to make his mark all over the field with 17 carries for 134 yards and two TDs, five receptions for 102 yards, and three kickoff returns for 54 yards in a 35-21 victory against Lake City Columbia.

AJ Williams, QB, Winter ParkCompleted 23 of 27 passes for more than 250 yards and four TDs in a 41-16 victory against Boone.

Atticus Dyke, WR, Winter Park: Caught three TD passes (34, 4, 15 yards) for the Wildcats.

Jacob Kania, RB, Lake MinneolaRushed for three TDs in a 34-21 victory against Wekiva.

Romelo Ware, RB, Olympia (Orlando)Ran for 162 yards and three TDs to lead the Titans past Lake Nona, 29-6.

Sabby Meassick, QB, Tohopekaliga (Kissimmee): Super sophomore completed 37 of 46 passes for 563 yards and seven TDs to lead the Tigers past Foundation Academy (Orlando), 49-21.

Julian Nasco, WR, Tohopekaliga:Caught 13 passes for 175 yards and three TDs for Toho.

Luke Smith, QB, Spruce Creek (Orange City): Passed for four TDs in a 35-9 romp against Haines City.

Hayden Hayes, QB, Seabreeze (Daytona Beach): The 6-2, 210-pound junior threw for 320 yards and four TDs, and ran for 63 yards in a loss to University (Orange City).

Bryce Speed, QB/CB/ATH, Windermere: Completed 6 of 7 passes for 206 yards and three TDs and ran five times for 42 yards and two TDs in a 65-14 victory against Cypress Creek (Orlando).

Jamarie Pierre, RB, Horizon (Winter Garden): Ran for five TDs and scored a two-point conversion in a 37-0 victory against Colonial (Orlando).

Brady Hart, QB, Cocoa: The stellar sophomore passed for five TDs in a narrow 37-36 loss to national power Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

Tayshawn Benson, RB, Heritage (Palm Bay): Ran for three TDs (1, 47, 63 yards) in a 23-0 shutout of Port St. Lucie Centennial.

Jaylen Heyward, ATH, Rockledge: Ran for three TDs (53, 49, 79 yards) in a 59-21 victory against Viera.

Shaun Hartman, QB, Merritt Island:Threw four TD passes to lift the Mustangs to a 54-0 victory against Astronaut (Titusville).

Brogan McNab, QB, Holy Trinity Episcopal (Melbourne): Ran for three TDs and passed for another score in a 42-6 victory against Palm Beach Christian.

Tyler Aronson, QB, Vero BeachCompleted 24 of 34 passes for 302 yards and two TDs to lead the Indians past Palm Beach Gardens, 26-11.
