Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl roster includes former New Canaan (Connecticut) OL Lucas Niang

Niang is in his third season with the Chiefs; 2nd time playing in the Super Bowl

There’s one representative from the state of Connecticut playing in today’s Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

That player is former New Canaan High School’s Lucas Niang, who is no stranger to the big game, as he was apart of last year’s Super Bowl winning squad.

Winning championships overall is nothing new for Niang, who helped the Rams win three state championships from 2013-2015 back in his high school days in Connecticut.

His senior season was his best of his high school career, with Niang earning All-FCIAC honors and also being named first-team all-state. With over 40 collegiate offers, Niang ended up playing at Texas Christian University (TCU) and became a starter during his sophomore year.

After college, Niang entered the 2020 NFL Draft and was selected as the No. 96 overall pick in the third round. He is the first French national to ever play in and win a Super Bowl.
