The Connecticut High School Football CIAC State Championships are complete as we finish up our Player of the Week polls.

As such, we have six athletes nominated this week for the SBLive Connecticut CIAC state championships football offensive player of the week award from December 9, and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, December 31st at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced at the beginning of 2024.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.

Here are the nominations:

Adam Pandolfi, RB, North Haven: The senior running back was the leading yardage getter for North Haven’s Class MM state championship win over Wilton. Pandolfi led the way with 63 yards and scored a touchdown in the 21-0 victory.

Luke Robinson, QB, New Canaan: In the Class L state title game, the junior gunslinger was dealing in New Canaan’s 28-21 win over Darien. Robinson completed 15-of-23 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns.

Aidan Dolan, RB, Hand: One of the top performers of the six state championship games was Dolan in Hand’s 57-20 romp of Rockville for the Class M title. Dolan rushed for 267 yards on 30 carries and scored four touchdowns.

Caleb Smith, QB, Staples: The dual-threat quarterback has been doing it through the air and on the ground on all season long. The senior willed the Wreckers to a thrilling 21-20 win over West Haven for the Class LL crown, throwing for 84 yards, a touchdown and rushed for 97 and three scores.

Davion Kerr, RB, Bloomfield: There was no shortage of offense when Bloomfield rolled to the Class S state championship in a 42-20 rout of Cromwell/Portland. Kerr was the workhorse on the ground, rushing for 181 yards on 20 attempts and scored two touchdowns.

Jack Gilbert, QB, Joel Barlow: Not needing to put the ball through the air and keeping it exclusively on the ground, Gilbert helped lift Joel Barlow to an exciting 21-20 win over Watertown for the Class SS title. Gilbert scored two touchdowns and rushed for 52 yards.
