Live update final: Mitty wins fourth straight Open title, 16th regionak crown overall with 71-34 win over Clovis West

Mitty jumps to 16-0 lead and never looks back while ending Clovis West's season for third consecutive year

The CIF Regional finals are here on Tuesday, including the girls Open Division championship pitting the No. 1 ranked team in then nation, Mitty (29-0) versus Central Section power Clovis West (31-2). Tip-off is 6 p.m.

The winner advances to the CIF State Championship game 6 p.m. Saturday to face the winner of the Southern California title game between Etiwanda and Sierra Canyon

Mitty has ended Clovis West's season the last two years, including a 63-43 victory last season (see video above). 

The unbeaten and host Monarchs advancd to the finals with an 82-71 win over Folsom — the team's closest margin of victory in two months — behind 28 points and nine rebounds by McKenna Woliczko and 19 from McDonald's All-American Morgan Cheli, a UConn-signee. 

Clovis West advanced to the finals with a 69-57 win over St. Mary's-Stockton as senior point guard Athena Tomlinson went for 30 points.

Mitty 71, Clovis West 34 (final): Running clock makes it a fast fourth quarter. Fourth straight Open title for Mitty, which wins its 15th regional title overall. Mitty ends Clovis West's season for third straight year. 

THIRD QUARTER UPDATES

Mitty 60, Clovis West 25 (end of 3): Elana Weisman gets hot in 3Q with 10 points, including 3 3s. Monarchs getting ready to get back to Golden 1 Center where they've lost some tough ones. 

Mitty 50, Clovis West 24 (1:58): Tomlinson gets into double figures with a 3, but Woliczko not only up to 15 points, but also her second block.

SECOND QUARTER UPDATES

Mitty 38, Clovis West 15 (halftime): Belle Bramer, a Lehigh signee who just returned from injury, drilled a 3-pointer and has seven quick points. There's a reason Mitty is No. 1 team in the country. Athena Tomlinson leads Clovis West with eight. 

Mitty 26, Clovis West 11 (5:43): Woliczko, considered one of the nation's top sophomores, is now up to 11 points with another putback. 

FIRST QUARTER UPDATES

Mitty 20, Clovis West 9 (end of 1): Nice comeback by Clovis West after falling back 16-0.

Mitty 16, Clovis West 9 (2:38): Quick 9-0 run by the Golden Eagles, who utilizes full-court pressure. Riley Walls with five quick points. Don't win 30 games without showing grit. 

Mitty 14, Clovis 0 (5:09): Woliczko another 3-point play, then a fastbreak layup. She has seven and Cheli with five points each. This is getting ugly quick.

Mitty 6, Clovis West 0 (6:31): A putback by Woliczko gives Monarchs quick lead. Timeout Golden Eagles.
