CIF high school baseball roundup: Westlake, El Camino Real make Easton tournament final

El Camino Real will look to beat its fifth straight Southern Section team next week in the Easton Tournament final

If weather allows, Westlake High (4-0) and El Camino Real Charter (4-0) will play in the Easton SoCal Showdown baseball tournament final on Tuesday at Birmingham Charter at 6:30 p.m.

The Southland is expecting heavy rains next week which could impact the game. If the final isn't played Tuesday, the game is expected to be played Thursday.

Both teams were victorious Saturday in the tournament semifinals.

Westlake defeated Simi Valley 3-1 thanks to a stout pitching performance from Andrew Habermann, who threw a complete game, allowing just three hits and striking out two.

Westlake defeated Rio Mesa (10-4), Birmingham (7-0) and Sierra Canyon (5-1) before Saturday's victory.

El Camino Real has made itself an early pick to win the Los Angeles City Section Open Division title after beating four straight Southern Section teams, including the semifinal win over Chaminade.

Luke Howe hit a grand slam in the sixth inning to give the Royals a 6-4 lead. Howe was also the winning pitcher after three innings of work.

ECR has also beaten Crespi (3-1), Thousand Oaks (5-1) and Calabasas (4-3).
