Top 25 California High School boys basketball rankings (2/12/2024)

For the first time in more than a month, a team repeats as top team in the state as defending Open Division champion Harvard-Westlake holds on to the No. 1 spot

The playoffs hit full force this week as eight of the 10 sections open section play.

Most of the movement from last week to this week stemmed from the Southern Section Open Division which pits eight of the top 15 teams in the state in a round-robin three-week event.

At the very top is Harvard-Westlake which opened pool play with a 61-51 win over Corona Centennial. They'll face No. 4 Sierra Canyon in a second-round play Tuesday after the Trailblazers defeated St. John Bosco 72-67.

The biggest shaker of the week came out of the North Coast Section, where San Ramon Valley, which won the Gold Division of the Classic at Damien, avenged a pair of regular-season league losses to state-ranked teams to take the East Bay Athletic League playoff championship.

The Wolves (24-5) went on the road to defeat Granada 80-56 in the semifinals before defeating previous No. 17 De La Salle 68-59. SRV went from from honorable mention all the way to the No. 16 spot in the state rankings. San Ramon Valley opens North Coast Section Open Division playoff action Thursday with a home game against Granada to decide the best-of-three season series.
