The Grind Session: Puerto Rico will feature some of the nation's best teams and top 100 prospects

The Grind Session: Puerto Rico is an elite high school basketball showcase that tips off at the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum in Carolina, Puerto Rico this weekend.

The three-day showcase will feature 14 teams from five states and Puerto Rico.

Two of the teams competing — No. 4 Prolific Prep (California) and No. 20 IMG Academy (Florida) — are ranked in the latest SBLive Top 25 national rankings, while another, Dream City Christian (Arizona), is on the bubble after dropping out of the Top 25 this week. 

There will also be more than a dozen of the top 100 prospects across the ’24, ’25 and ‘26 classes at this tournament, including Prolific Prep's A.J. Dybantsa (No. 1 Class of 2025), Tyran Stokes (No. 1 Class of 2026) and Derrion Reid (No. 8 Class of 2024).

Since its inception in 2014, The Grind Session has featured more than 2,800 players who have gone on to play collegiate or professional basketball.

Nearly 100 of those players made it to the NBA, and more than 20 were selected in the first round of the past two NBA drafts alone. 

Recent notable alumni include DeAndre Ayton, LaMelo Ball, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jonathan Kuminga, Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murry, Mitchell Robinson and Jayson Tatum.

The Grind Session: Puerto Rico will feature 13 games. There will be three games each on Friday and Sunday, while Saturday will be the primary day of action with seven games on the schedule.
