Harvey Kitani talks Kevin Durant, McDonald's All-American game on CIF Southern Section Sitdown
Harvey Kitani has more than 950 career wins, which is third all-time in California boys basketball history.
Kitani is best known for his time at Los Angeles Fairfax in the Los Angeles City Section, where he was the head coach for 35 years.
Kitani's first year at Fairfax was in 1981 before stepping away in 2016 to become the coach at Rolling Hills Prep, where he is still the coach. Kitani won four City titles at Fairfax, including three Division I championships, and has won four CIF Southern Section titles at Rolling Hills Prep.

Kitani was a guest on the CIF Southern Section Sitdown presented by SBLive Sports where he talked about his career.
Kitani touches on topics like coaching philosophy, the changing landscape of prep sports over his career, the great players he mentored and coached against, and about his experience as a coach for the prestigious McDonald's All-American game in 2006.
NBA standout Kevin Durant was on Kitani's team.
"We beat Montross Christian that year and they were No. 1 in the country," Kitani said. "... then Durant's mom introduced me to her family as the coach that beat Kevin's team."
