Breaking: St. Augustine, head football coach Ron Gladnick part ways

Gladnick led Saints to the San Diego Section Division 1 title in 2023

Less than a week after finishing their 2023 season with a 21-20 loss to St. Bonaventure in the D1-A Southern California regional bowl game, St. Augustine announced that Ron Gladnick is no longer head coach at the school.

A release from the school on Thursday announced there is a search for a new head coach to replace Gladnick.

Gladnick took over as head coach of the Saints in February of 2022. He went 4-8 in year one before finishing this season 10-5. St. Augustine shutout Mission Hills 13-0 in the San Diego Section Division 1 championship game, winning the school's first CIF title since 2018.

Gladnick previously served as head coach at Clairemont (2012-13) and Torrey Pines (2014-21). He led Torrey Pines to the San Diego Section Open Division championship game in 2018, losing to Cathedral Catholic 28-17.
