Look: Ryder Lyons talks to media after leading Folsom to Northern California football championship

One of nation's top sophomore quarterbacks shows off impressive speaking skills to rash of media members

FOLSOM, CALIFORNIA — Ryder Lyons is one of the most impressive sophomore quarterbacks in the country. Big. Strong. Fast. Elusive. Quick release. Fearless.

He might be even better in front of bright lights, microphones and every kind of camera imaginable.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound lad with wild spikey brown hair, face paint and clear brown eyes came across warm, humble and sincere.

He handled more than.a dozen media members after putting up another virtuoso performance — 324 total yards and four touchdowns in his most important win to date, a 28-25 CIF Northern California Regional D1-A championship home victory over Pittsburg — with great ease and skill.

Just like he handled a ferocious Pittsburg defense — in and out of the pocket the previous three hours — Lyons fielded a barrage of questions ranging from his tight relationship with head coach Paul Doherty, his team's culture and defense, Pittsburg's defense, the game-winning drive, the go-ahead touchdown, how he critiques himself, what it took to win to next week's state-championship game with St. Bonaventure.

It was a lot and that's only in the 2 minute, 23 second video above.

No one, at the time, asked the about the elephant in the stadium, that/he being USC coach Lincoln Riley who roamed the end zones throughout the first three quarters.

Sure enough, Lyons revealed on social media hours after the game that Riley had indeed talked to him and offered him a scholarship. Lyons has 15 other college offers thus far including Oregon, Notre Dame, Colorado, Brigham Young and Cal.

His brother Walker, a four-star tight end at USC and 2023 Folsom graduate, is serving a Latter-day Saint mission
