Sweetwater's Xzavier Crews is SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week (11/28/2023)

Versatile athlete does it all for the Red Devils en route to a San Diego Section D5 football championship

Xzavier Crews spells his first name a little than most. Then again, the senior quarterback, running back, wide receiver and cornerback is a very different talent.

The versatile senior from Sweetwater led the Red Devils to a San Diego Section Division 5 championship on Nov. 17.

Crews rushed 13 times for 162 yards and three touchdowns, added a catch for 10 yards and five tackles from his cornerback spot, all during a 46-37 win over Vincent Memorial.

That performance put him a top performance list for SBLive when his numbers really soared. He secured a whopping 85.4 percent of the votes to give him the SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week award for games played between Nov. 17-18.

For the season, Crews is one of three 1,000-yard rushers for Sweetwater (7-6), which hosts St. Monica (11-3) in a 6-A SoCal title game Friday at 7:30 p.m.
