Sierra Canyon vs. Santa Margarita: How to watch CIF football playoffs, live score updates
The Santa Margarita high school football team has played one of the toughest schedules in the country this season.
The Eagles (5-5) have played four teams who are either currently ranked in the Top 25 nationally or were ranked at one point this season. That schedule should have them well prepared for Friday's CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoff opener vs. unbeaten Sierra Canyon (10-0).
With a win over Sierra Canyon, the Eagles would likely get another shot at Mater Dei in the D1 semifinals. The Monarchs beat the Eagles 35-19 on Oct. 27.
Sierra Canyon is led by quarterback Wyatt Becker, a four-star junior with multiple Power 5 offers, and wide receiver Xavier Jordan, a four-star senior who has committed to USC.
The Trailblazers host Santa Margarita on Friday at 7 p.m. in one of four first-round Division 1 playoff games. The other three games feature Corona Centennial vs. Orange Lutheran, St. John Bosco vs. San Clemente and JSerra vs. Mater Dei.
