Chaparral's Dash Beierly is SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week (11/06/2023)

The junior quarterback puts up big numbers in regular-season ending win over Roosevelt

Dash Beierly saved his best for last.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound junior quarterback piled up 464 yards of total offense himself and eight touchdowns — a good season for many junior QBs — in a wild 59-57 win over Roosevelt on Oct. 26 to close out the regular season.

The game ended on an unusual free-kick rule. (See video above).

Beierly completed 21 of 28 passes for 306 yards and a season-best five touchdowns. He also carred the ball for 23 times for a season-best 158 yards and three more scores.

The victory lifted Roosevelt to a 7-3 record, which it took into CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs, where it lost a 41-7 game at Oaks Christian.

Beierly's performance placed him firmly in the middle of a top Southern California performance list, which prompted him to record even bigger numbers on the voting front.

Beierly ammassed nearly 4,000 votes to collected 65 percent of the count to earn the SBLive Southern California Athlete of the Week award for games played Oct. 26-28.

At the end of the regular season, Beierly finished with 143 completions in 230 attempts for 1,966 yards and 17 touchdowns. He also rushed for 554 yards (including sacks) and 12 more scores.
