California Top 25 high school football rankings by SBLive/Sports Illustrated (11/06/2023)

The last rankings until the end of playoffs features new teams Servite, St. Mary's-Stockton and Pittsburg and 14 squads that had first-round postseason byes

Now, it gets very interesting. And competitive.

Fourteen teams from last week's state Top 25 rankings were idle, given byes in the first round of section championships.

With the top 18 teams unchanged, the rankings very much looked the same as last week. Five sections throughout the state finished up the regular season, as we will with these state rankings until the season ends on Dec. 8-9 with the state championships at three different venues: Pasadena College, El Camino College-Torrance and Saddleback College-Mission Viejo.

Three Top 25 teams which lost last week were replaced by bubble teams Servite, St. Mary's-Stockton and Pittsburg.

All but two section playoffs are in the quarterfinal rounds with regional play set for Dec. 1-2. The North Coast, Central Coast and Northern section all announced their brackets on Sunday.

San Francisco and Oakland Sections have one more regular season games before semifinal play between top four teams start next week.
