Campolindo football stuns Acalanes 25-24: Live updates recap

Cougars score two unanswered touchdowns in the fourth quarter, capped by 2-point conversion pass with 2:53 left, to cost Dons outright DAL Football crown

The host Acalanes Dons looked like it had it all gift wrapped and ready to celebrate. Their dreaded rivals from the West spoiled it all.

Sophomore Micah Parker's 23-yard touchdown sprint with 2 minutes 53 seconds left in the fourth quarter got Campolindo within a point and rather than kick it, longtime coach Kevin Macy went for the win.

The Cougars got it on a 2-point conversion from Isaiah Ortiz to Scott Lyon and interception from Mack Fisher to seal it as the Cougars pulled out a 25-24 Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division victory.

Ortiz earlier in the fourth quarter scored on a 1-yard sneak, helping the Cougars on a 15-0 fourth-quarter run.

Acalanes, which had outscored its last six opponents 283-34, had a chance to win the title outright but instead it has to share it with the Cougars (7-2-1, 5-1) and Las Lomas (9-1, 5-1).

All three will make it to the North Coast Section playoffs, though because all of their vast success over the years, Campolindo, a school with just 1,,400 students, has been elevated to the Division 1 level and likely will earn an at-large bid.

Campolindo won for the 15th time in last 17 of the series. This one might have heard the most for the Dons.
