CIF Sac-Joaquin Section 2023 football playoff brackets: Scores, matchups, game times
The seven-division Sac-Joaquin Section football brackets are complete.
The games kick off Friday and concludes Nov. 24. The champions advance to the CIF State Northern Regional championships on Dec. 1-2.
State championships — winners of the regional finals — take place Dec. 8-9 at three different venues: Pasadena College, El Camino College-Torrance and Saddleback College-Mission Viejo.
Defending Sac-Joaquin Section champions are Folsom (D1), Manteca (D2), Grant (D3), Vanden (D4), Escalon (D5), Hughson (D6) and Ripon Christian (D7).
Top seeds in the 2023 brackets are Folsom (D1), St. Mary's (D2), Grant (D3), Escalon (D4), Twelve Bridges (D5), Sutter (D6), Ripon Christian (D7A), Woodland Christian (D7B). (Note that the 7A and 7B four-team bracket winners play for the 7A championship, and that winner advances to regionals.)
Unlike many other sections, the divisions are based largely on enrollment.
