CIF-SS football schedule: Southern Section Week 7 (10/5/23 - 10/7/23)
The 2023 CIF California high school football season rolls on this week with a packed slate of CIF-SS games kicking off Thursday (October 5) and continuing through Saturday (October 7).
The Southern Section's must-see game of the week features a pair of teams each ranked in the latest Top 25 California high school football CIF-SS rankings.
All eyes will be on Saddleback College Friday night when the No. 11 Santa Margarita Eagles host the No. 13 Orange Lutheran Lancers in a Trinity League showdown.
Four out of the last five times these two have met have been decided by a touchdown or less, with the Lancers winning three of those matchups.
Friday's game has all the makings of another classic.
Another top matchup to watch in Week 7 is a Baseline League battle between the No. 14 Damien Spartans and the Chino Hills Huskies.
The Spartans have managed to maintain their undefeated record through their first seven games, but Chino Hills is fresh off an upset over former No. 14 Etiwanda last week.
If the Huskies can upset the No. 14 ranked team for the second week in a row, we could see Chino Hills break into the Southern Section Top 25 rankings next week.
